Not to be misleading, but this Brooklyn Grange is actually located in Long Island City, Queens. One of the first (and biggest) rooftop gardens in New York, Brooklyn Grange has led the charge on urban farming since its launch in 2010. Varieties grown here include Zinnias, Gomphrena, SnapDragons, Ageratum, Strawflower, Celosia, Cosmos, Sunflowers, and more. Aside from flowers, between its two NYC rooftop farms, Brooklyn Grange grows over 50,000 lbs of organically-cultivated produce per year and offers a robust calendar of events and educational programming for those who want to learn more about organic farming.
